Steps to Install Canon Printer Drivers
STEP 1: Launch the web browser on your computer and go to the Canon website.
STEP 2: On the home page, in the top right corner, you will see the support section. Click on it.
STEP 3: A new page will open with 4 fields; product category, series, model, and document. In the product category field, select inkjet printers or inkjet multifunctional printers from the drop-down menu.
STEP 4: In the series field, select the series to which the printer belongs. The series may be the Pixma series, the Maxify series, I series, or the image PROGRAF PRO series.
STEP 5: Select the model number of the printer. You can find the model number of the printer on the underside of the printer or on the user manual of the printer.
STEP 6: When you click the document section, a drop-down menu will appear with options; driver-software and firmware, product and software manual, technical specifications, and frequently asked question. Select driver-software and firmware.
STEP 7: A new page will open with various driver versions. Click on the latest version.
STEP 8: A new page will open stating the update history, system requirements, cautions, setup instructions, file information, and disclaimer. Read the information carefully and click on “download now” on top of the page. A file will download, run it.

I am unable to install the drivers for my canon printer. The download of canon printer drivers was successful and the scanner is detected and got installed but just not the printer. The canon printer driver is shown in the printer Control Panel, but on tapping, it shows “Driver is unavailable”. On the computer printer settings i have “Add a Printer” and it detects the canon printer. But after that, it shows me with “Printer could not be installed” into few minutes of installing.
